ITS 25th Anniversary

ITS 25th Anniversary dinner was just now, at Four Points by Sheraton. I arrived kinda late and ended up sitting next to someone whom I actually know but could not recognise after so many years..swt! Ok..I admit I'm not good at recognising people..lol! The beautiful, young lady sitting next to me was Joanne Lim, an ex-teresian too! Oh gosh..I just couldn't recognise her! She has grown prettier and I think thats the reason why I couldn't recognise her..haha! Oh well..there I go..giving excuses to comfort myself again..lol! I also found out that she's Sekama branch's AA, Sylvia's cousin! Wow!! What a small world..lol!

Ok..enough about that. Now the programme...the program for the dinner was good. There was a video of "the life of ITS", lots of award presentations and also lucky draws. Talking about lucky draws..oh well..I'm always not lucky enough to win
any of the hampers..sigh! But nevermind..hehe!

As for the food..hrm!! I would say its just ok...not very nice. Nothing special about the food at all..
Here are some pictures taken during the dinner..

Take this opportunity to visit Doulos and buy your favourite books. It's a great way to spend some quality time with your family and friends. Entrance is FREE! Sad and Disappointed

I felt very sad and disappointed when I heard people say, "Why should I pray? What's the use of praying? God never answers my prayers. He's never there for me when I needed Him most.." It really pierced my heart to know that someone is losing faith and hope in God. To answer your questions, my dear friend..God is always there for you. Always beside you in good times and in bad times. He never left your side at all. He loves you so so so so much that He'll never leave and abandon you in times of trouble. He always wants the best for you and will only give you the best because you are everything to Him. He even sent His one and only son to die for us..to save us from our sins. Just imagine how great His love is for all of us. Dear friend...pray! NEVER NEVER stop praying. Yes..I know. Sometimes your prayers don't get answered but remember..God is listening to your every prayers and is working out something to help you. He'll never ignore your prayers. God will make a way, where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see..He will make a way for you. Remember that..He has His reasons for His actions. Never ever doubt or question Him. You might lose your loved ones through death or separation or you might face failures. Lots of people tend to question God.."Why? Why is this happening to me? Lord, why didn't you stop this from happening?" Never ask..for He has His reasons. He knows what's best for you. Dear friend..I don't want you to doubt God and give up on Him. When you don't seem to get what you want when you've been praying hard for it, remember...God never fails to grant your petition. Here's a beautiful story that I'd like to dedicate to you. It was taken from Reader's Digest, May 2008. Enjoy!

The Butterfly and the Flower
Once there was a man who asked God for a flower….and a butterfly. But instead, God gave him a cactus ….and a caterpillar. The man was sad; he didn’t understand why his request was mistaken. Then he thought:
“Oh well, God has too many people to care for….and decided not to question.”
After sometime, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten. To his surprise, from the thorny and ugly cactus a beautiful flower grown. And the unsightly caterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.
God always does things right!
His way is always the best way, even if to us it seems all wrong. If you asked God for one thing and received another, TRUST. You can be sure that He will always give you what you need at the appropriate time. What you want….is not always what you need!
God never fails to grant our petitions so keep on going for Him without doubting or murmuring.
Today’s THORN….Is tomorrow’s FLOWER!
God gives the very best to those who leave the choices up to HIM!
God bless.
I hope this story has touched your heart the way it has touched mine. Dear friend...remember. God is always right. He'll never be wrong in anything. Just fully trust in Him and nothing will go wrong. You'll thank Him later if you trust and leave the choices up to Him now.
p/s: No particular name is mentioned here as I think the identity of my friend should be kept confidential. Dear friend...if you're reading this, I hope this will give you comfort. Be strong and trust in the Lord. You know who you are... ;)

Practicum Briefing

Last Friday I had my practicum briefing together with the other education students. All of us who attended the briefing will be doing our practical next January. We discussed about the schools that we wanted to do our practical in..both primary and secondary schools. We'll only be doing an observation for 1 week in the primary school and practical for 3 months (10 weeks) in the secondary school. We were asked to choose which school we wanted to go to. So here's the list of schools available for practical.
  • SMK Wira Penrissen
  • SMK St Mary
  • SMK Jalan Arang
  • SMK Bandar Kuching No. 2
  • SMK Matang
  • SMK Green Road
  • SMK Pending
  • SMK Tabuan Jaya
  • SMK Batu Lintang
  • SMK DPHA Ghapor Stampin
  • SMK Sungai Tapang
  • SMK Demak Laut
  • SMK St Thomas
  • SMK St Joseph
  • SMK Kolej Abdillah
  • SMK Sungai Maong
  • SMK Lake
  • SMK Bau

I was looking through the list, looking for SMK St Teresa. St Teresa was my first choice but to my despair, St Teresa was not in the list!! damn! The other three premier schools were in but why not St Teresa? sigh! So I had no choice but to choose other school instead. I was kinda disappointed. I didn't know which school to choose. I need to choose a school that is near and more convenient for me to go to and back from school. I need to make up my mind fast but I'm still not sure of which school to choose. So I called my dad to ask for some advice. He said its up to me. Why not St Mary? Since its an all-girls school and it'll be easier for me to handle them. Or why not St Joe? Since my brother is still studying there and we can go to and back from school together. My brother will be in Form 4 next year so there might be a possibility that I'll be teaching him IF and only IF the school put me in morning session..otherwise, I might end up teaching my cousin who'll be in Form 2 next year. So I finally chose St Joe instead. I had a choice of going to SMK Pending too since my aunt is teaching there but I don't feel like going there at all..haha! When my coordinator asked who wants to teach in St Thom, quite a number of students raised their hands. Only 5 can go to the 1 school and there were 6 hands being raised up so the coordinator asked them to discuss among themselves who will be going to St Thom. Next, the coordinator asked who wants to teach in St Mary and quite a few raised their hands. Not many tho..less than 5 if i'm not mistaken and when she asked who wants to teach in St Joe, I'm the only one who raised my hand. Why am I the only one? Nobody seemed to want to teach in St Joe..thats kinda weird. Is St Joe not a good school at all? Lots of people fighting for St Thom and no one was interested in St Joe..hrmm. Anyway, I don't bother..who cares right? haha! So that's for secondary school. Now, we had to choose the primary school that we want to do our observation in. This time, there's no list of schools so we were allowed to choose any school we want. I chose SRB St Teresa. My former school..which I think it'll be easier for me as a lot of my former teachers are still there..hehe! But all these are not confirmed yet. The coordinator will need to send our names to the education department first and everything will be confirmed in our next practicum meeting. After discussing these two items, we were allowed to leave since there's nothing else to discuss about. Until now I'm still not sure if I've made the right choice to teach in St Joe..hrmm! Hopefully I won't regret making that choice. Anyway, I'll just leave everything to God. He knows what's best for me. I think I'll stop here for now. Will update my blog again soon. Tata!

Jason and Gerald's Baptism

Today is Jason and Gerald's baptism. After Mass and breakfast, my family and I went over to St Thomas' Cathedral for their baptism. It started at 11am with all the other family members, relatives and friends present there already. My dad took video while I took pictures. The baptism was conducted by the priest in mandarin and sadly, I couldn't understand what was said by the priest. I know I'm a banana when it comes to mandarin. My mandarin sucks..oh wells.. :(
Anyway, here are some pictures of their baptism. Enjoy viewing them.. :D
