Fire!! Fire!!

Today I watched a few houses burnt down at my housing area. I was actually at my cousin's house looking at those white mice that my cousin just bought for her biology project. I didn't notice the smoke when I went over to her house earlier. Maybe the fire haven't started. My cousin and I were busy watching those mice and talking about them when we smelled something burning. We looked over the fence and saw thick black smoke coming from the "kampung" (malay area). Immediately, we knew that a fire broke out in one of the houses there.

Out of curiosity, my aunt, cousins and I walked there to have a look. While we're on our way to the scene, we saw lots of people heading towards the same place too. When we got nearer, we could feel the heat from the burning house. We couldn't get close cause there were too many people. The situation there was really chaotic. We saw people crying, people with really worried looks and so on. The fire spread really fast. When we just reached the scene, the first house was burning down. Within a few minutes the next house caught fire too. Everyone watched in horror as the second house started burning down too.

Before the next house caught fire too, we saw the house owners carrying out their belongings. They managed to carry out their sofas, tv, mattress, chairs, table fan, etc. They even managed to save their clothes and toys too..haha! The bomba, rescue 991, policemen and red cresent took quite a few minutes before arriving at the scene. When the bomba arrived, the fire was under control. They managed to put out the fire after quite sometime. Due to lack of water, I noticed that the villagers used river water too cause the water used to spray the burning house was really yellowish-brown like teh-c-peng..haha!

After the fire had been put out, we saw reporters coming to interview the fire victims and other villagers. Overall, 4 houses were burnt down during the fire. The whole area was flooded with water used to put out the fire earlier. So the whole place was really dirty. After about half an hour of real life fire experience, we headed back home. The whole neighborhood was filled with polluted air from the fire earlier. What a sad experience for the victims. Well...we'll just pray for them that they'll be strong enough to go through this with patience and courage. That's all for now. Tata!
